About LenDuchLLC

Len Duchnowski

Lenduch LLC is the business umbrella for the consulting activities of
Len Duchnowski.

Len has been an engineer in the industrial, electronic, and
automotive industries since 1974. He has worked at large
corporations (DuPont, Procter & Gamble, Caterpillar, and Ford),
a small startup (Precision Technology, Inc., a manufacturer
of a specialized tracking, telemetry, and data acquisition
system for passenger and race cars), and, since 1997,
at professional motorsports teams in CART/Champ Car
(Newman Haas Racing of Lincolnshire, IL), Indy Racing
League (Andretti Green Racing, now Andretti Autosport,
of Indianapolis, IN), and NASCAR (Red Bull Racing of Mooresville, NC).

In the process, Len has worked with owners and drivers that most people have heard of:
Jackie Stewart (a 10% owner of Precision Technology Inc.), Mario Andretti (a driver
for Newman Haas Racing), David Coulthard (when driving for Paul Stewart Racing and using
the Precision Technology system), Michael Andretti (driving for Newman Haas Racing, now owner
of Andretti Autosport), to name just a few.

Len's time in professional motorsport has been spent behind the scenes, doing computer simulations,
analyzing data, writing custom software, and simulating, performing and analyzing four- and seven-post
shaker testing. He's also done circuit design, board layout, manual board stuffing, and housing
integration for several small electronic modules.

Most of the complex simulation, analysis, and software work has been done with the use of Matlab
software, often using Simulink as the simulation tool, and sometimes implementing GUI (Graphical User
Interface) functions within Excel but calling Matlab as the computational engine.

While Lenduch LLC may have some limited standardized software in the near future,
Len's business model is that of a contract engineer and collaborator. He makes no attempt to
hide or protect the software he writes for clients -- if you have Len write software for you,
you will always be provided with the source code so that you can modify or advance it on your
own, and even use it as sample code for your own projects in the future. Further, Len maintains
strict confidentiality -- he doesn't ever talk about any of the work he's doing, and resists
even revealing the other client teams or suppliers he may be working with. When you have Lenduch LLC
do work for you, it's just as if an employee was doing it!

Recently, Len has been researching how to minimize the software costs for simulation work,
perhaps by translating Simulink models into equation-based models that can be compiled by a team
with only one Matlab license, and then deployed throughout the team's engineering staff for routine use.

Len's work is not confined to race teams, however. Whatever your business, if you need the
short-term assistance of an experienced mechanical, electrical, and controls engineer to help jump-start
your design, Matlab-based simulation, or data analysis project, Len may be able to give you a hand.
