Excel GUIs
Many engineers use a spreadsheet program like Excel to do simple preprocessing
of parameters that are used in a simulation and some amount of postprocessing of the
results of the simulations, as in this example:
When the simulations are done with Matlab, whether using
Simulink or equation-based models, numbers can be transferred between Matlab and Excel
"automatically" using relatively simple active-x commands. To the extent that this is
possible, Excel can be used as a familiar GUI (graphical user interface) for
multiple simulation runs.
This technique has been used on multiple occasions; if this is an avenue you'd like
to explore, Lenduch LLC can assist.
